Software company safeguards security ahead of 2020 election
Snapshot
A software company with Republican and Democratic clients came to Kalles Group looking to aggressively mature their security program in preparation for the 2020 U.S. election. Kalles group conducted a unilateral assessment of their current security situation, created a plan to bridge any gaps, and trained their employees on how to identify and thwart any future cybersecurity risks.
Challenge
A software company that serves both Republican and Democratic clients needed to aggressively mature their security program ahead of the 2020 U.S. election. Not only did the software company represent influential candidates on both sides of the political spectrum, but the company had been experiencing rapid growth in the years preceding the election. The client wanted to ensure that they had the security protocols in place to prevent any cybersecurity attacks given the influence of their clients, as well as the risk posed if information got into the wrong hands.
Approach
Kalles Group first conducted an in-depth assessment of the client’s current security in the arenas of people, technology, and processes. Then, Kalles Group developed a roadmap to rapidly address each of these areas and align the client’s employees around a shared security framework.
Results
At the people level, Kalles Group ran several tests to identify any threats or education opportunities among those with access to the company. At the technology level, Kalles Group fortified the client’s web server stack to protect against any vulnerabilities. At the process level, Kalles Group helped the client secure a fortress of passwords, authentication processes, and protocols for how to maximize current security and address any security threats in the future. Kalles Group helped educate the client’s employees and position the client to grow securely going forward.
