Seattle, WA Cybersecurity Consulting Firm We help with all kinds of problems- like taking a good self portrait with your phone. How to take a self portrait with your smartphone Natural light Expand Natural light is best! Not direct sun in your face, but stand somewhere close to a window with daylight if you're able. Rear camera Expand Your phone's rear-facing camera is likely better quality than your selfie/front cam, so try propping it up at eye-level and stepping back from the camera a bit. Use a friend or the timer feature. Portrait mode Expand If you have a phone with portrait mode, use that feature and set the dial on “studio lighting” (on iPhone). If you don't have portrait mode, turn the quality setting up high and ensure it's in focus. Neutral background Expand If you're indoors, don't stand directly against a wall, but create a bit of distance between you and your background. Try to avoid any distracting items that draw attention away from your great smile. High resolution Expand If we asked you to email a photo, send in high resolution, and no need to crop or edit- we'll do that in-house to make sure it's formatted properly and you come out looking your best, as per usual 😉 5 simple tips Not simple?
